Dress Code

For such an historic venue and unique atmosphere it has to be smart and elegant.  A mixture of Royal Ascot, a Buckingham Palace garden party and the film set of the Great Gatsby. Central to any wardrobe decision, however, must be the capricious British weather. That said, a late summer’s day in early September is as about as good as it can get in England. Pleasantly warm and sunny, and not too hot. (Weather being a national obsession, best follow our lead and always pack a brolly.)

The hope is that Owners, visitors and their guests will set the sartorial scene, arriving in outfits that match the style and elegance of the magnificent machines. Dressing appropriately is all part of the experience and will add to the sense of occasion. So feel free to dress up. Period dress would be wonderful. And hats—Ladies, the bigger and bolder, the better.

‘VIP/Owners Day’ is a chance for everyone to shine and sparkle. Why not choose to dress in period outfits? But whatever you wear, it’s a chance to make a grand entrance. Gentlemen should be ‘suited and booted’ - a linen suit or tailored jacket, and a tie or cravat. Ladies are expected to dress to a similar standard.  For both the public days elegant casual dress is encouraged. For men jackets or blazers.
