At the heart of the Concours is the aspiration to raise significant amounts of money for charity.
Last year the event raised in excess of £250,000 to support charities that provide palliative care for children and young people with life-threatening diseases. The ambitious target for 2013 is £500,000.
This year we will be raising money for a number of charities working in the field of cancer care, research and support. Our principal charity partner will be Marie Curie Cancer Care, the charity which gives people with terminal illnesses the choice to die at home, surrounded by the people and things they cherish.
As part of the programme of Concours events, all Owners will be invited to a private gala dinner to celebrate our charity partnership and raise funds for our chosen cause.
Any charitable donation will be gratefully received and will contribute significantly to the success of the St James’s Concours of Elegance.
Provisions exist for making tax efficient donations both here and abroad.
The funds raised through the St. James’s Concours of Elegance will be granted to Marie Curie Cancer Care, Pilotlight, Rosetrees Trust, and Action on Bladder Cancer.
The 2012 event raised over £250,000 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK.
The principal charity partner of the 2013 St James's Concours of Elegance is Marie Curie Cancer Care, the charity which gives people with terminal illnesses the choice to die at home, surrounded by the people and things they cherish. 75% of the net proceeds will be used by Marie Curie Cancer Care (Charity registration no. 207994 – England & Wales, SC038731 – Scotland) to care for terminally ill people at the end of their lives.
The remaining 25% will be divided between Pilotlight (15%) (Charity registration no. 1059660), Rosetrees Trust (5%) (Charity registration no. 298582) and Action on Bladder Cancer (5%) (Charity registration no. 1138532).
